Redefining the Essence of Beauty

Sharmila Singh Flora was born into the “Hat Khola Dutta” family. At a very young age, she was married into a Sikh family. After her marriage, her life took a different turn and she owes her position today to all those small and significant incidents that took place then.

She passed her B.A from Calcutta University in 1986. After that she wanted to broaden her educational background but she knew that it would not be in the academics stream. As a child, she had always been attracted to the field of arts, was very creative and always had a penchant for anything that was beautiful. After coming across the  biography of Shahnaz Hussain she realised that beauty was her creative avenue and after that simple incident her life changed overnight. She enrolled herself for a diploma in Beauty Therapy & Hair Dressing from Women’s World. She trained under the respected Shahnaz Hussain in Delhi for the next two years and did her postgraduation from Women’s World, an affiliation of International Therapy Examination Council, England.

After completing her studies, she started her first parlour at 192A Sarat Bose Road. It was a humble effort but the response that she got was enormous and overwhelming. After running an only-women’s parlour there for the next 12 years, she shifted base from the former to 29 Lake Road which was a much bigger and better facilitated beauty therapy parlour. Her first parlour was then made into an only-men’s herbal salon.

Both her parlours are equipped with modern technology that enhances the therapies she provides. She gives complete therapeutic advice on skin and hair care. From hair fall to skin-pigmentation, each problem is treated in an efficient manner with the use of ayurveda as well as modern technologies. Her therapy is herbal-based. There are many ranges of therapy depending upon the nature of skin and hair type and she tries to give personal attention to all her clients. A session at her parlours is not only relaxing but it is a way of de-toxing after the daily stress and hassles faced by her clients.
